Are you a super fan of Burgundy but tired of breaking the bank?
Enter a value-driven wine from a lesser explored appellation. Domaine Berthenet is a small family producer located in Montagny, which sits in the southern part of Côte Chalonnaise.
Growing vines for four centuries, their 2021 Tête de Cuvée is a spectacular Chardonnay produced from a marriage of different parcels in the village of Montagny-Les-Buxy. Aged in stainless steel tanks, this top cuvée has intoxicating aromas of white flowers and stone fruit bursting from the glass. Each sip delivers crisp, elegant flavors of citrus and saline notes made all the tastier with bright acidity.
As it goes with small family producers, they don't make a lot of wine. With only 15 cases in all of Massachusetts, this is not something to sleep on. Especially for the price!
