The most recent project from husband-and-wife team, Luca Currado-Vietti and Elena Penna (formally of Vietti) produces some of BRIX’s favorite Piedmontese wines. For their Barbera, the grapes used are predominantly from two parcels on the vineyard; one planted in 1965 and another in 2000. The wine is vinified partially whole cluster and aged in barrel, making it rich and concentrated but not too ripe. This red is medium bodied, with notes of wild herbs and red berries that last through the elegant finish, while still retaining a nice freshness.
