Giovan Battista Burlotto formally established this estate in 1850, and it was one of the very first Barolo estates to bottle its own wine. Most of the estate’s wines come from vineyards in the village of Verduno, while the grapes for this Langhe Nebbiolo are 60-70% declassified fruit from Barolo-designated vineyards, while the rest is from sites just over the appellation border. The palate is bright and berry forward, with classic aromas of violet, lilac, crushed stone and pencil shaving. Uncork with hearty Bolognese and other tomato based Italian classics.
