In 2002 friends (and brothers-in-law) Miguel Hornillos and Javier Ballesteros created Mibal, combining vineyard holdings from some of the best sites in Ribera del Duero. They sell 90% of their fruit to some of the top producers in the region, saving the tiny remainder for their own wine. The Mibal Joven is Tempranillo in its purest essence, showcasing the dark-fruited character of the region with an herbal touch, and a bright acidity that makes this an ideal food wine. Salud!
