Anne-Sophie Dubois represents a new generation of talent in Beaujolais. Her eight-hectare domaine is located on the granite-rich slopes of Fleurie, where she farms organically, prioritizing the health of her old vines (some exceeding 60 years). Dubois adopts a Burgundian approach to her wines, often destemming her fruit and favoring longer macerations with native yeasts. She emphasizes a gentle extraction and aging in neutral oak barrels and cement tanks, avoiding new oak to preserve the purity and elegance of Gamay. 'L'Alchimiste' is crafted from vines over 40 years old, representing a selection of some of her best fruit. Expect a core of ripe crushed raspberries and black cherry, grounded by subtle hints of spice like cinnamon and a whisper of earthy minerality.
