Moric Hidden Treasures Balaton

Superstar Austrian winemaker Roland Velich’s winemaking ethos is simple—make wines that clearly reflect a sense of place. Collaborating with Hungary’s Villa Tolnay on his latest series ‘Hidden Treasures’, Roland brings to light wines from the Pannonian Plain. Once considered some of the most precious wines in the world, through world wars and phyloxera, the region fell out of fashion. The grapes for this high-toned blend of Riesling and Furmint are sourced from the volcanic soils of Lake Balaton. Perfumed with a bouquet of white flowers, the palate is bright and savory, with notes of Meyer lemon, almonds, and salty herbs.
