Castello Monaci Primitivo Pilùna

The Castello Monaci estate is centered on a 16th century castle once inhabited by Basiliani monks. Nowadays it is owned by Lina Memmo and her husband Vitantonio, where they farm 350 acres of vineyards in the sun-kissed region of Salento, in the Puglian boot of Italy. This Primitivo is bold and spicy, with notes of ripe black fruit, liquorice, and toasted vanilla. A powerful but balanced alternative to California Cabernets.
