There are tens of thousands of active wineries in the world. However, scrolling through any recent Christie’s or Sotheby’s wine auctions quickly reveals that the number of wineries whose offerings can truly stand the test of time makes up less than 1% of that larger figure. Within the packed Burgundy collectibles category, Domaine Ponsot has managed to carve out a serious niche for itself as a producer of seriously delicious and age worthy offerings. One of fifth-generation female winemaker Rose-Marie Ponsot’s entry-level offerings, this Cuvee du Pinson is a richer and more full-bodied expression of Pinot Noir. Only ~3,000 bottles were produced.
